TCI Foundation: Fighting Bear Bile Farming & Saving ‘Jingle’

Jingle is a happy, playful and sociable bear who loves the company of the other bears. These days, she’s often be found playing in the enclosure or lying in the soft grass under the sun.

It did not start out that well for Jingle. On a freezing cold evening in 2009, missing her right front paw, the little bear was found abandoned, stuck up on a tree. Luckily she was not too far away from Animals Asia’s rescue centre in Chengdu.

Thanks to Animals Asia and the TCI Foundation, Jingle was given a new life after the horrific episode of what was probably an escape from a bile farm or while being transported to one.

Oh and she’s best recognised by her big Mickey Mouse ears!

After a dramatic rescue, she was taken safely home.

Thanks to Animals Asia and the TCI Foundation, Jingle was given a new life after the horrific episode of what was probably an escape from a bile farm or while being transported to one…

Jingle is not alone. More than 10,000 bears are kept on bile farms in China, and the numbers are close to 1200 in Vietnam.

There more bears like her… Mickey, Andrew, Jasper, Zebedee, Oliver, Peter, Chocolate Tara, Mausi… who are being cared for in China and Vietnam by Animals Asia with the support of the TCI Foundation.

The TCI Foundation is proud to be associated with the organisation and help make a difference to the lives of these animals.
