Testimonials

"Dear Sharon, Joe, Connie & TCI Support Team,

A heartfelt “thank you” for a truly transformational 7 days! TCI’s NLP Practitioner training quite literally turned my life around. No doubt about it.

I’ve been pain-free since I completed the course. That’s following 18 years of ‘doing’ fibromyalgia. I even cured myself of restless leg syndrome. If faced with a health ‘challenge’, I just ask myself “how am I doing this?” and presto it’s gone.

Controlling my ‘state’, I discovered, isn’t limited to health. The weekend following our NLP training, I put in an awesome paddle at the Corporate Games - Outrigger Canoeing held at Docklands.

Thanks to the TCI team, I’m living purposefully and with passion, creating the world I really want. My map of the world has changed irrevocably.

Now to pass that gift along...

In light & love,"

"Coaching is a journey of passion, integrity, inspiration and dedication just to name a few. These values are extremely important to The Coaching Institute, its founder Sharon Pearson and her team who deliver nothing less than the values which they teach. John and I are both students with TCI and would not hesitate in recommending their training programs to anyone who is passionate about inspiring people through coaching to reach their full potential. <$title$>Hello Reader,

I met someone the other day was feeling really low and sorry for themselves. When they got talking, it was mainly about what wasn’t working in their life and how everything seemed really hard. They were keeping at arms distance the people they loved, and so also felt isolated.

How simple is it to be able to feel down? I also believe it’s simple to feel great, if we are willing to do some things differently.

The people who don’t spend their time thinking of themselves, and who do connect with loved ones tend to be pretty happy. This observation isn’t based on any studied I’ve read, just from what I’ve noticed.

The easiest way to feel great about ourselves is to make a difference. Contributing beyond ourselves is how we can know happiness and fulfilment. Being a coach definitely provides a way to feel great, because we have the opportunity each day to make a difference in someone else’s life.

I used to feel down most of the time. These days I’m too busy assisting people to achieve their dreams to think about how it used to be, and that’s okay by me!

Warmest regards,

Sharon

What’s Your River?

By Joe Pane, TCI Coach

The late Earl Nightingale once said that there are two types of people in the world. There are goal setters and there are river people. River people are those people who are born into their craft and excel to amazing levels in comparison to the rest of the planet. Examples are people like Tiger Woods, Don Bradman and Roger Federer. Then on the other hand, you have River people. These people began their journey into their prospective sports from a very young age. They worked hard. They persisted. Earl Nightingale believed these people make up 1 in 10 000. The rest are goal setters. In other words, they need to set goals and work toward achieving them. Setting goals means writing them down and looking at them with emotional intensity at least weekly. If the passion or desire is already in your head – they are not goals!

Now, if we take what Earl Nightingale says and take it to the next level. What if there is a river within all of us? All we have to do is notice it. So how do we notice our river? We notice it by what we love doing… which leads to what we’re good at. This in turn leads to finding our strengths. Take notice of what people encourage you to do. These are subtle clues that will lead you to discover your river, your love, your purpose.

There are many who believe we need to work on our weaknesses. This is an urban myth. There was a classic late football commentator whose name is Jack Dyer and he would refer to average football players as “very good ordinary players”. If we work on our weaknesses and only our weaknesses we will only ever be very good and ordinary. Working on our strengths is an entirely different story! When you work on something that you are already naturally good at…, that you love…, that is your river, you will excel at an amazing rate well and truly above being very good and ordinary. As a result a huge gap will develop between you and the rest of the majority of the population in your area of strength. It is in this gap people will pay you, and pay you well… simply because you are so great at what you do! To get real good at your weaknesses you will only be as good as the majority of the population. There will be no gap and you get payed like everyone else.

I believe we all have a responsibility to work toward discovering our strengths, our love, our river and then acting. This leads to you fulfilling your need to contribute, which leads to growth, which leads to experiencing your life in a way that feels real real good. Isn’t that the point to experiencing life…, doing life…, having a life?  When you allow the space to experience  level 1 courage. That is the courage to begin. This is followed by level 2 courage. The courage to continuethis is where most people stop.

Teleclass Protocols

For all students regarding Teleclasses here are some helpful hints to make sure you get the most out of your sessions:

  • Dial in slightly early than the scheduled time.
  • Make sure you are in a location and position where you will not be disturbed by ambient or outside noises.
  • It is helpful to turn off the TV or radio before dialing into the teleclass.
  • Be prepared and have a pen, paper and a glass of water or something to drink handy for yourself.
  • Tell your household you are on a conference call and please do not disturb you.
  • Once you have called in do not put your phone on “hold” when on a teleclass.  Remember, everyone on the telephone line will hear your “hold” music.  It is better to let your messagebank pick up the call for you to collect later.

Following these simple hints will make everyone’s experience including your own even more enjoyable.

Enjoy your next teleclass!

Coaching Journey - A Road Less Travelled
Connie Diano, Beyond Your Now Pty Ltd
Interviewed by Lauri Blyth-Carter

Eighteen months ago, Connie started a new journey as a TCI student.  A mother of three grown children, for over 20 years she worked as a Human Resource and Office Administrator.  Connie is certain during this period in her life she was playing it safe.  Yet, she knew there had to be more to life than what she had.

Connie had always been interested in the “mind body connection” but wasn’t sure exactly how it fit within her life.  She considered the subject “interesting” and left it at that.  She says she wasn’t sure how to get it to work for her and felt like she was left “floating along in the sea of life”.  Until one day she read an advertisement in the local newspaper that sparked her interest.  An information night given by The Coaching Institute, she thought, “now that’s really interesting” and she planned to attend.

The evening of the TCI information night Connie became very sick, though she didn’t know what from or how.  She didn’t attend the information night and it slipped quietly to the back of her mind.  Connie continued with her life bored and wondering where her life was going.  She knew she was stuck and didn’t know how to change things.  Connie had forgotten about TCI and the information night when a handwritten note arrived in the post from TCI.  Connie opened up the letter read, “Are you still interested in learning more about Coaching?” and screamed “YES!”  She made a decision that day to let go of all of her old beliefs and she has never looked back.

Connie’s Intake Weekend was April 2006 and looking forward to moving toward her new future.  The day before her Intake Weekend her son was suddenly rushed to the hospital with a collapsed lung in South Australia.  Her initial urge was to return home immediately to be with her son though she knew if she left she wouldn’t continue with the course.  She was convinced and reassured by family and friends he would be okay so she stayed.

The morning of the Intake Weekend Connie wasn’t feeling well and was rushed to Melbourne hospital with suffering from an anaphylactic shock.  Doctor’s and nurses told Connie she was allergic to something she had been in contact with – to her knowledge she had no history of any allergic reactions.  As Connie was lying in the hospital bed she realized and imagined she looked identical to her son. It was in this moment she became aware she had put herself in hospital!  She promptly checked herself out of hospital against the advice of her attending doctors and returned to the TCI Intake Weekend and was even more determined to finish the weekend.  Everything to Connie was a blur.

Connie threw every once of energy she has into coaching.  She says that once she finished the Intake Weekend there was no stopping her!  She said she would coach anyone who looked at her and was breathing!  She now has upwards of 20 clients and a strong growing practice, plus she is a well respected Mentor for TCI.  Connie has paved her way her dream of running her own successful Coaching practice.  Connie’s coaching practice is called “Beyond Your Now” and is located in Adelaide, South Australia.

We take our hat off to you

Wendy Dunstan, an amazing single Mum and TCI student Coach has absolutely thrown herself into her training and studies.  We are blown away by your enthusiasm and willingness to play at 100%!
